Governance

Board Consulting

Governance is a rapidly changing, critically important driver of a thriving mission-based organization. We think old ways of operating limit governance capacity, and effective boards need new ways of working grounded in strong partnership with professional leadership.

GLP has educated, facilitated and consulted with boards, both volunteer and paid. We bring innovative thinking, objectivity, and structured methodology to supporting boards. Our independence, breadth of for profit and not for profit experience, and our nuanced understanding of effective governance makes GLP the best choice for serious Board support.

We partner with you to:

  • Achieve great governance through education, goal setting, and assessment

  • Explore institutional viability, and options for reorganization

  • Facilitate your next critical conversation and improve board dynamics

  • Anticipate and plan for the future

  • Support board development with a focus on culture, function and composition

  • Design customized instruments for Board and Head of School evaluations

Guiding Leadership Transitions

Strong leadership is essential to successful schools and not for profits, but is often centered in only one individual or a handful of people.

Greenwich Leadership Partners has successfully coached and facilitated leaders and boards through numerous high stakes and complex transitions. We know how to support you when situations do or must change.

Mentorship is often confused or conflated with Executive Coaching and Consultation. They are not the same. Mentorship is advice grounded in another leader’s former experience. This can be a limited perspective, and miss the critical nuances of context and personal leadership capacity that shape the best solutions. The GLP team brings multi-sector experience and is trained in coaching and consulting methodologies to support leaders, and know how to problem solve, guide, and develop leaders and Boards as they address their futures.

We partner with you to:

  • Assess your school or organization’s leadership capacity and future needs

  • Build a road map for identifying, developing, and assessing leadership at every level of the organization

  • Understand the diverse interests of your stakeholders, anticipate their needs and communicate with them effectively

  • Plan constructively and create conditions for successful transitions
